A roundup that scores an app on "NSFW: yes" tells you nothing, because every app in the space says yes and then refuses in a different place. Sasha finds the place. They run a fixed set of scenario prompts — instruction-led, dominant, submissive, trans and femme personas, feminization arcs, established-relationship dynamics — and log the exact turn where the model deflects, softens, or drops character.
That work produced the vocabulary this site uses for refusals. A hard refusal is an explicit no. A soft refusal is the reply that stays in character but quietly steers away from what you asked, which is far more common and much harder to spot mid-scene. A persona collapse is when the character survives but the voice does not. Those three failure modes are graded separately in every review, because an app can be excellent at one and useless at another.
Sasha is also the editor who insists the site describes consent and boundary handling honestly. Companion apps sell fantasy, and the fantasy works better when the product is clear about what it is.
